A Bit About Me

I am a Peruvian artist, performing arts producer, artistic programmer, and cultural manager with more than 15 years of experience in the cultural sector. Trained as a communicator and specialized in Cultural Management, I have dedicated over two decades to promoting Peru’s dances and traditions as a professional dancer and advocate of our cultural identity.

My work focuses on developing cultural projects that connect communities, strengthen diversity, and foster cultural exchange between Peru and the United States. I currently lead initiatives that integrate performing arts creation, artistic training, and audience development.

Work Experience

2007 - 2011

2011 - 2021

Cultural Promotion in Peru
As Director of Arts Promotion at the National Institute of Culture in Peru, I implemented cultural policies nationwide, promoting access to and dissemination of the arts throughout the country.

Leadership in Cultural Institutions in Peru
I directed the National Ensembles of Peru (2011–2017), supervising the state companies and leading the creation of the National Folkloric Ballet of Peru (2008), which became the country’s main state dance company. Later, I served as General Director and Artistic Programmer of the Gran Teatro Nacional in Lima (2017–2021), managing international programming, educational projects, and audience development strategies.

2005 - 2025

Artistic Career and Entrepreneurship in Peru and the United States
Since 2005, I have pursued an active artistic and cultural career. I founded and directed Peruexpresión Folklore Company in Peru (2005–2017). Currently, as CEO and founder of Salas Art Agency in the United States, I design performing arts projects, curatorial programs, consulting services, and artistic training programs. I also expanded Peruexpresión internationally with PEX Peruexpression Dance Company in the United States, dedicated to sharing traditional Peruvian music and dance.
