About me

I am a Peruvian artist, educator, and cultural producer with more than 20 years of experience in the performing arts. My work is dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and international presentation of Peruvian folkloric dance, with a particular specialization in Marinera Norteña and Marinera Limeña.

Throughout my career, I have developed artistic and educational projects in both Peru and the United States, including the founding and artistic direction of Peruexpresión (2008–2019), one of Peru’s most recognized independent folkloric dance companies. Today, I serve as Co-Director of PEX Dance Company in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I promote cultural exchange through performance, education, and community engagement.

Artistic Leadership and Company Development
(2008–2019)

Ongoing Practice and Artistic Specialization (2001–Present)

I began my professional training as a dancer with Ballet Así es mi Perú, where I developed a strong foundation in the traditional Peruvian dance repertoire and participated in performances across Peru and internationally.

As Founder, Artistic Director, and Principal Dancer of Peruexpresión Folklore Company, I led the creation and production of original stage works, educational programs, and national and international tours, contributing to the visibility and appreciation of Peruvian folkloric dance.

I continue to maintain an active career as a competitive Marinera dancer, specializing in both Marinera Norteña and Marinera Limeña. My artistic development also includes ongoing training in traditional Peruvian music, particularly Chio Abanto y Golpe, guitar, and cajón, allowing me to integrate dance, musicality, and cultural interpretation into a distinctive artistic practice.

Awards & Championships

Throughout my career, I have earned top honors in prestigious Marinera competitions in Peru and the United States, including:

  • Club Libertad Orlando 2025 – First Place

  • Pañuelos Sin Fronteras 2023 – First Place

  • Todas las Sangres (2014, 2018) – First Place

  • El Nuevo Tunante 2016 – First Place

  • Tradición y Sentimiento 2015 – First Place

  • Ciudad de Lima 2013 – First Place

These achievements reflect a sustained commitment to artistic excellence, cultural preservation, and the continued evolution of Peruvian traditional dance.
